Abstract

This article addresses the planning, implementation, and recommendations of one medical library in reaching out to users in the mobile environment. A three-pronged approach was adopted by the library's Mobile Committee that addressed this issue and included the creation of a mobile web page <http://www.gwumc.edu/library/mobile>, Mobile LibGuide <http://libguides.gwumc.edu/mobile>, and recurring library drop-in support sessions targeted at specific student populations. Attendance at drop-in sessions was popular as was the use of the Mobile LibGuide. Increased use of the mobile web page is anticipated as a result of inclusion in The George Washington University Mobile App in spring 2011.
