Abstract
© Springer-Verlag London 2013. Colostomies are not uncommonly used in pediatric surgery, especially for cases of anorectal malformations. The special approaches toward complications (often because of poor siting and prolapse) are discussed by authors expert in their management. Operative approaches need to take into consideration the nature of subsequent rectal and anal reconstruction and the presence of an associated fistula with the urinary tract in this select patient group.
