Abstract
The author as a participant in the US-USSR National Academy of Sciences Exchange Program in 1974 adds a personal example to I. Z. Holowinsky's article on "Russification" of Ukrainian psychologists. The author was told by a Ukrainian scientist that although Ukrainian was the official language, researchers who used their native Ukrainian instead of Russian sacrificed any opportunity for advancement in their scientific careers.
