Abstract

A selective review is provided of recent studies dealing with the functional organization of the golden hamster's visual system. Three main topics are considered: (a) the normal organization of the superior colliculus and visual cortex; (b) functional correlates of neonatal damage to the visual system; and (c) the influence of environmental manipulations upon collicular and cortical physiology. © 1981.
