Description

Childhood asthma remains a major public health concern in Ward 8 of Washington, D.C., where asthma rates exceed district and national averages. The program proposes a mobile medical clinic that would provide free screenings, inhalers and referrals, including education and community advocacy to improve access to care and overall quality of life for children in Ward 8.

By bringing services directly to underserved communities, the program will aim to reduce asthma attacks, school absences, and childhood asthma-related deaths. The program’s success will be evaluated through participant surveys which will measure health outcomes and overall satisfaction.
