Abstract

This poster describes the results of interviews with two informationists one working in a medical ICU, and one attending internal medicine morning report. Barriers to implementation that were identified included lack of formal training for people in this role, lack of interest from some healthcare professionals, and selective acceptance by the clinical care team. Enablers for implementation that were identified included the support of a senior physician, confidence builds with increased time in the role, and having access to a librarian with the ability to search the medical journal literature to answer questions about patient care is valued by clinicians.
